a few weeks ago someone asked how i would treat the ends. i hadn't decided untill yesterday. i shopped around and only found poppler and oak at the retail stores.
mahogony, maple and a few others at the lumber yard.
then i went to the specialty woodworker store and they had everthing. including ebony and coco, and a bunch of other cool stuff. i chose purple heart to offset the cedar.
it looks great. according to the dealer it is water, rot and bug proof as is, "so it should work well on a boat."
i plan on making the combing lip purple as well.
the purple will turn color over time in the sun.
it bent really well, however, it wouldn't make it over the deckin one piece. so i will make the deck piece tommorow.
