I've stained the sheer panels of my S&G with a walnut stain and I'd like to add deck art (Canadian Maple Leaf) to the front hatch cover. To get the best match with the sheer panels, I'm thinking I want to find some Okoume veneer to stain with the same stain as the panels, then glue down with epoxy to the hatch cover under the glass. I haven't had any luck finding Okoume veneer online that wasn't either a boatload of the stuff or that had adhesive on the back.
Anyone know of a source of (a small size) of plain Okoume veneer for this? If this is something that's not commonly availabe, is there a substitute for Okoume that is close in color and appearance that would stain to a similar appearance?
Thanks all,
Paul
