: What exactly is the edge bonding process?

Yes we mix up a combination of resins, slow hardener, and some additives (nylon flux, cabosil) and glue the edges of the hull and deck together with no tape wet out on the inside or outside. I was shocked at first but I have paddled the sprint boats (all 235 of me) with no problems. I have tipped over quite a bit learning to paddle the ICF boats and put a lot of force on them empting the water out of them with no separations. I would not recomend this on any boat that goes out in the ocean or a large lake as the forces are probably much greater.

We are going to use a H channel molding when we go into production because it takes a lot of sanding and fitting to get the edges to meet without gaps.

Regards,

Jack
