: We went with the table saw as I wanted a long fence which was easy to make & install. The long fence provided the needed stability & was also used for the bead & cove which we also did on the table saw (made a router insert in the table using Lee Valley's cheap & efficient insert kit). We were cutting down from 18' 2 by 10's & found it easiest to pre cut them into 2' by 2's - this then permitted an easy review of each piece to make sure the grain was running the correct way before cutting the strips. I didn't even consider using my band saw as I couldn't imagine getting as straight a cut as I could with the table saw. hope this helps.. cheers.. ian
