Aloha, all,
I'm building a stripped Hawaiian outrigger sailing canoe. It has decks fore and aft with watertight bulkheads supporting inboard ends of the decks. Will serve as flotation and dry storage. I'm looking for deck plates with watertight access port 6-8 inches in diameter. I've found only plastic deckplates and hate the idea of plastic on my all wooden canoe. Any ideas about sources of wood-finish deck plates or how I can make them myself?
Mahalo,
Kent
