In Response To: No worries, our pleasure to help! (Mike and Rikki)

I think you two ought to get out a little more ;)

: Robert

: Thanks for the heads up but BTDT. We have friends who have a summer home near
: Tofino and we've paddled in Clayoquot, and down in the Broken Island group
: in Berkely Sound a few times. Rikki, her folks and I did a paddle trip
: Fiordland Marine Provincial Park a few years back that was a blast,
: including the ski plane ferrying in the yaks and us. There's another place
: that is always a joy: Courme Island (the small island with the L shaped
: channel in it, next to Mink Island) in the Desolation Sound Marine Prov.
: Park. It's a kayakers camping spot, and at low tide fest on the oysters
: and Molino Clams year round without red-tide or boaters' tank flushing
: worries. Let's not forget the Queen Charlotte Islands and the off-season
: solitude of them.
: The BC Provencial and Marine Provisional Parks are amazing and aside from the
: campgrounds, are free. Same thing is true of the coast and forests. In
: fact, nearly all of the forest campgrounds are free-that is-until the
: 1000+ fires of this summer, the soft lumber embargo, the beef embargo and
: the cut-rate power sale to California. There's talk of closing and
: privatising many of the forest campgrounds. Let's hope this doesn't
: happen.
: I tell you what, aside from the wonderful scenery, I think the best thing
: about BC is the people. Wonderful, friendly! In my opinion there's BC and
: New Zealand, and what else could one ever need?
