Increasing the the gunwale angle increases the amount of sheer you'll get when you pull the gunwales together. Rocker is not necessarily related, as it is controlled by the shape of the ribs (primarily the depth). It's possible to build a kayak with a lot of sheer and no rocker, or vice-versa.
