My shelter gets some condensation on wet and windless days. Moisture will turn you epoxy milky where it lands. But a couple of cheap painting plastic cover sheets strung up in the middle to the roof (cost me $4NZ) will work and it will have the advantage of keeping bugs and stray dust from landing on the yak.
To attach the shelter to the side of the house I threaded some thin rope over the clips that hold the spouting on. The tarps and pipe where then wired to the rope. Have had no problems with the clips breaking and it saved drilling holes into the barge board of a rental house. I covered the ends of the pvc pipes with foam where they are forced against the barge board as there is still some movement. If your hoop house has steep enough sides, cones and small branches should just slide or bounce off it. Large branches? well you may need to duck for these
Cheers
