In Response To: Strip: Short Strips (Chris)

Hi Chris, my last boat was over 20' in length so practically every strip was joined. I simply butted them together and spanned the joint with a small 'A' clamp to keep it aligned. I found it worked better if the joint fell between forms because I was able to clamp them easier. My butt joints are visible but are not immediately apparent and even look good. I have scarf joints in other areas of the boat that are almost impossible to find. Get the best wood you can find and then do what you have to do to make it work.

I hope this helps,
Chip
