Sew your bags from that. You might want to put a coat or two on the fabric first ( use whatever you coated your kayak with) to waterproof the falt material befroe cuting and stitching. The coating will stiffen the fabric a bit and make it easier to cut and sew. It should reduce raveling at the seams, too, so you won;lt need to cut this with a hot knife; a sharp scissors will do fine.
After sewing, put on two more coats of your sealant, being sure to cover the seams and the areas where you stitched.
And that should do you.
