I will be starting to glass my surf kayak next week. And I need some information before I put the deck on.

What are the pros/cons of fins on a surf kayak?

What is the best placement of the fins?

Where is the best place to order the boxes and fins?

I have seen fins on a mako and the first set was about parallel with the back of the seat and the inner set was about 4 inches behind the seat.

Anyone with 2 cents please respond.
