I finally managed to download a more recent picture of the rebuild. The link below should show you the rebuild standing on end outside of my little shop in epoxy. The image shows the deck glued on and the openings cut to size. Since then I have rebuilt the ground sheer joint at the bow and filled all joints in prep for glassing (hopefully Sunday). I repaired the ground bow sheer joint by using duct tape and thickened epoxy. The duct tape was attached just below the sheer joint and allowed to sit higher than the top of the deck. THis cheapo mold was used to suspend thickened epoxy over the ground out sheer joint which had been wetted out before hand with epoxy. I added the thickened epoxy to the dead air space between the hull and the tape with the intent of sanding away anything that is in excess on Sunday. I thought about rebuilding the bow sheer joint using wood but I got lazy today and thought of this cheap and easy method instead.

I'll spend most of next week fairing the deck, taping the new bulkhead, coating the bottom with graphite/epoxy and designing a keyhole riser to fit. The final task before the weekend will hopefully be buying new footpegs. The mounts for the footpegs are still intact, the pegs, probably still up in the mountains covered in silt by now. No worries! My goal is to launch the rebuild by Tuesday, October 27, my birthday.
