That's pretty cool, flying a boat from an apartment complex to get it in the water.
Nice idea to work out the construction methods before producing the final boat. I'd be very interested in your process for the building of a foam cored boat.
Maybe you've noticed. I'm not a big fan of Kevlar for canoes and kayaks. The weight savings on a small boat are negligible when measured against the concerns of using Kevlar for the build method. I'd prefer S-glass as your outer skin component in the layup. Then, again, maybe you're going for the golden exterior look with a clear finished Kevlar hull.
Carbon will be wonderful for an interior layer as you will be taking advantage of all the best properties as well as gaining the small advantage of weight savings.
I'm looking forward to seeing the final boat pictures as you fly the hull to the street below.
Whatever you end up doing, have a blast building your boat and please do share the finished product with us as well as anything you've learned along the way.
