Hopefully the collection stays in the public. Sad to hear the entire museum is closed.

: Wednesday, 15 October, the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough, Ontario
: closed its doors to the public. With it goes one of the best collections
: of strip, bark, dugout and traditional skin boats in the world. The future
: of the museum and the various collections is uncertain at this time.

: By a weird coincidence, I was up there on Monday with my camera and managed
: to photograph the entire skin boat collection. I have set up a site with
: most of the 150 or so photos I managed to get. I should have the final
: boats entered by tonight.
