I have just started building a Merganser and so I'm very interested in saving
weight. What is an internal stem? In a previous post someone mentioned wetting
the surface first then laying down the glass. Did I get that right?

: My expedition weighs over 50 pounds. My Storm LT weighs 35 (admittedly it is
: shorter) but the biggest weight saving comes from squeegeeing. Keep doing
: it until the resin starts to set up. Do this on the first coat especially
: but continue to do it on all subsequent coats. Keep the fillets small. Use
: internal stems instead of end pours. Use a lighter weight fabric inside.
: Did I mention squeegee?
