: was it just rough seas? If they were rental kayaks were they given any
: briefing and PFD's, and did the rental place have the information
: nescessary to call off their trip, i.e. was this a forecast storm or a
: storm that gave clear signs of danger? I would assume from your earlier

I've only read a brief account in my local paper, and heard brief reports on TV.

I don't know if articles in other papers gave more detail, but I suspect they didn't
give the kind of information we're looking for. The reporters just aren't going to ask
the questions we would.

As I said before, I was in the same area with friends and we all ended up deciding not to paddle.
What I do know is that there was a forcast storm in progress with a small craft advisory.
The morning started with light rains and wind and quickly changed to heavy rains and winds.
Most of the heavy rains ended around noon but the winds stayed strong and steady from the
southeast and visiblity was limited.

Many of the people in our group have paddled together for twenty years. We decided not to go.

They decide to go. They were 19 and 20 years old.
