Hi, Dale-
Depending on what she's going to do with it, you might consider Nick's Play. Tracks a bit better than the Guillemot, delightfully manueverable, and would fit her like a glove.
Only (slight) downside is the smaller volume limits storage, so it's pretty much a day trip boat. Both boats are a blast to paddle, though. Yesterday I was looking at a 22 mile paddle in mostly perfect glass conditions. Had the choice between my Guillemot or the kid's Play. The kid was at school, sooo...took the Play. Love having a day off when the weather's good.
Good luck whichever you decide! Mike
: I finished the Night Heron for myself this summer and love it. Now I am
: gearing up to build a stripper for my wife. She's about 5'8" and 160
: lbs and a skilled canoe paddler but a novice kayaker. I liked Nick's
: design and plans so am leaning toward the Guilemot for her. Any opinions?
: I am also considering The Silver or Spring Run. Can anyone compare these
: boats to the Guillemot? Are there any other boats I should consider?
: Thanks,
: Dale
