: I finished the Night Heron for myself this summer and love it. Now I am
: gearing up to build a stripper for my wife. She's about 5'8" and 160
: lbs and a skilled canoe paddler but a novice kayaker. I liked Nick's
: design and plans so am leaning toward the Guilemot for her. Any opinions?
: I am also considering The Silver or Spring Run. Can anyone compare these
: boats to the Guillemot? Are there any other boats I should consider?
: Thanks,
: Dale
I'm building my wife a Wee Lassie.... kind of an "open kayak" and real easy. (ok, really a canoe with a low seat designed to be paddled like a kayak) but hey it's actually half way... and cheap and easy (I've used $80 worth of materials) I had the tools already, and some maple for the gunnles & seat. Gunnels and seat are not on, and inside needs a fill coat of epoxy, but so far it weighs approx 15lbs. Problem is, she might think its a bit wimpy after you went though all that trouble for yours... >:-)
