Man oh man, I'm soprry about the layoff. But converesely, now's the time to go on exotended travel trips and kayak epics. It's actually pretty cheap camping in the wilds free of charge, enjoying all that Mama Nature has to offer. Personally I'm very happy being a bum these days. Mode of dress is sandals, shorts, tank top and a beer not so far away. If it's cold (So Cal set record heat records lately), I wear a nylon shirt, too.

The CF, a 5.4 oz 2 by 2 loose flat weave, is for the inside deck and hull. We're also going to lay "ribs" and a second layer between the bulkheads and around the hatches inside. You're spot on...the cost is high, but the weight savings is pretty significant and the CF is stiffer then regular s-glass. What's your thoughts on the dynel? Does it take a good rock scrape like glass of better?

The whole goal is to make a yak at the target 35 pounds. I'm really interested in your thoughts.
