If she's a skilled canoe paddler, my guess is that she'll pick up kayaking pretty quickly. I would think the Spring Run would be too big for her. The Guillemot is more lively and fun to paddle (and I mean really fun) but doesn't track as well although you can add a skeg. The Silver would be a good choice, although I'm holding out for the downsized King. The Silver still felt too big for me, but I like a lower deck and tighter fit. Other boats in that size range to consider are the Laughing Loon Shooting Star or One Ocean Kayaks' Cape Ann Storm LT. I've not been able to paddle either of those two though.
