In Response To: Strip: Light Night, Heron that is. (Brian Ervin)
The Night Heron I built 12 months ago weighs 17kg (37lbs) complete with seat and footrests.
It was made from 6mm (1/4inch) WRC and covered with one layer of 6oz glass inside and out with a few small areas given a second layer.
I applied a seal coat before glassing and about 3 more coats of resin after glassing.
All resin was applied with squeegees.
This was my first stripper and I wanted a lightish boat without going outside the parameters suggested in Nick's excellent book.
