I had to grimace and look sideways trying to imagine you guys cutting and trying to remove the paper after using the spray adhesive on it. I could see all the trouble coming. I am wondering why it is that you thought to use spray adhesive anyway. I am thinking that the integrity of the okhume as an epoxy-grade gluing surface would be compromised somewhat if you contaminated it with another adhesive, especially something so temporary. I it was Kurt who had a good idea with that, to use a straight pin and poke holes along the edges of the paper forms. Just a thought.
Why consider changing to a steel wire from the copper? Teh copper is proven effective. Do you want to make smaller holes?
Incidently, I've starting trying to imagine how I could build a S&G without all the drilling and wiring. I'm thinking there must be a way to clamp it all together, just haven't worked it out yet. I do, however, see in my mind some kind of clamp that grips via small claws or teeth from the inside of the hull to hold it all together. I suspect I'd ahve to use some kind of form or something. I'll figure ti out sooner or later. I'd love to see a S&G without all the damage the drilling does.
