This would probably work ok. Although I did not re-rip any composite strips, I did preglue them using the PVC clamps. I successfully ripped padouk down to 1/16", but it is very brittle (the padouk in the pic is 1/8"). Also keep in mind that the pieces making up the composite must be kept level with one another. That sounds obvious, but can be a chore when dealing with rapidly drying glue on 16'+ pieces. You'll have to knock off any glue squeeze out also, if you will be running these back through the saw. Whatever the difficulties, I think the results come out great. I was really pleased with the stripes on Beth's boat.
