There are tons of others, each with their own take on the subject. If the finish of your boat is to be clear so you can see the wood, then get the best stuff you can buy and, if possible, pick the sheets by hand.
The BS 6566 standard has virtually all the same features of the higher priced 1088 but it could have fewer veneer layers and will likely be not as attractive in the grain patterns. The same glue is used as well as the lack of voids and the panels meet the boil test for durability.
If you are going to paint your boat, this is ideal building material as it costs considerably less than 1088.
