WRC must have something. Noah's in Toronto gets US$425 for a bundle of strips sufficient to build a modest size canoe. You can duplicate this amount of strips in cedar for a little more than pine would cost. Just cherry pick the best boards the big-box stores sell and scarf joint the best sections of the cedar to get the strips you need.
Once you're good at scarfing you'll wonder how you got along without it.
