: I'll have to get it from the library again; one of the many benefits to
: living in a kayak town - they've got almost all the books at the public
: library.

: S#!t, are you gonna be okay? Sometimes I grab the outfeed side even though I
: know not to. I think I just broke that habit. Is that how it happened?

I was holding a very nice piece of honduras mahogany on the outfeed side of the blade to cut a bevel by cranking the saw blade up. The wood must have been sitting on the blade a little because when I turned the saw on it threw the wood toward me and pulled my hand into the saw. Stupid stupid stupid.

I got really lucky and didn't hit any nerves, tendons, or bone. Just the meat around my thumb, took a saw kerf out about an inch deep and 2 inches long. 20 stitches and a couple weeks of taking it easy but I can still count to 10 without having to pull off my shoes!!! whew. I won't be reaching behind the blade anymore either. I should have known better.
