Paddle: spare in bow or stern?

Were do you stow your spare paddle? I have a two part that I currently stow in the stern, but I hate the look of that plastic on my beautiful wood boat. It paddle a greenland paddle. I'm carving a new storm paddle for the spare.

Should I stow it forward using a bungie at the bow (Pygmy's suggestion)? or find a way for it to fix behind the cockpit? of keep with the two piece?

I paddle in sheltered waters in the intercoastal regions of Florida. Lots of marsh and short open water crossings of a mile or less.
