it's a self design 24+" x 8'-9" very flat bottomed, soft edged, retractably skegged yak - its intention was as an easy surfing symmetrical entry kayak - ocean or known river areas. as it was my 1st venture into strip building, it has lots of mistakes and misteps. it has been ready for glassing for a couple of yrs now, but there are some difficult areas that i have held off on until i learn how to deal with them.

so elliot, take your time, you'll still be way ahead.

in the meantime i'm making a couple of other s&g yaks - the long one of which was designed in part to explore the glassing difficulties. after partial hull glassing, i have learned a lot already.

but chip's post was about rotating strongbacks - i put that one on hingearms with wts on the other end so i could work on the yak on one side, then swing it over and work upright or on the other side. you can see with all the clamping how much easier it was to have those areas upright and vice versa.
the other small one i'm working on right now, i didn;t even bother to put on sawhorses. so i work on the bench, move it off somewhere to have some space to cut ply, bring it back, turn it upside down or lay on side or upside down. use foam pads.
those small ones are easy to handle - for this type of flexibility, the internal is the only way.
