:) that sounds kinda familiar!!!

One trick that helped me was to put a strip of blue painters tape along the boat above and below where the fiberglass tape needs to go. You are masking off the joint a little narrower than the fiberglass tape width. After wetting out the tape and giving it a day to cure you come back and peel the tape up and cut along the edge with a sharp razor. This gives you a really clean edge and makes it easier to get rid of all of those fiber-fuzzies.

You could also tape the edge of the fiberglass tape if you wanted to reduce the unraveling more.
