: you need a good imagination and a pile of junk".

: Ralph Waldo Emerson was OBVIOUSLY talking about his GP when he said:
: "There are no days in life so memorable as those which vibrated to
: some stroke of the imagination."

: Of course my favorite is good old Samuel Clemens who also knew that kayak
: building and paddling on the Mississippi River enhanced his ability to
: write imaginative tales when he said: "You can't depend on your
: judgment when your imagination is out of focus."

: For me...the bottom line is Nick's providing an absolutely unbelievable
: kayakbuilding community to fill the needs of SO many. I have been lurking
: for years, learning how to 'focus my imagination' a la Sam Clemens. I have
: had to put off building for a bunch of annoying joint problems...you
: know...this aging stuff. So.....I am trading in my left knee for a special
: titanium/chromium cobalt model next monday....AND....I have and will be
: using all my daydreaming skills this week and in coming weeks to heal.
: Hell...I have already redesigned the deck of my King at least 10
: times....and have performed a balance brace and a bunch of rolls with my
: GP (that is about 1/3 completed).

. . . and I feel your aches and pains(literally). There's no telling how many trips I've taken, miles I've paddled, and rolls I've perfected in my imagination.(as well as boats built!) I wish you well on your surgery.
