The wood is normal Okume, it seems to darken over time under the epoxy that I am using (Bote Cote).

I like the look of the hybrid version, I may contemplate using the second licence that eric gives you with the plans for a stripped deck partner for this boat. I plan to paint the hull of the hybrid version.

My Westriver has a painted hull and a varnished deck. It looks really nice. I'd imagine that it would look even nicer if the deck were stripped.

For the time being I am itching to get this one on the water (maybe its the fiberglass dust).
