: Okay, but on the stitch and glue, if you don't glass the inside of the hull,
: is there actually a problem with water seepage through micro cracks in the
: epoxy seal coat? Several manufacturers of plans and kits push this as a
: selling point for their kits, including enough cloth to cover the inside
: of the hull, and stating that "other boats" will show damage
: from water seepage with time.

Water stains through unglassed microcracks will occure where water sits and stresses are greatest,,it makes no sense to me to not have glass on the interior of the bottom panels where the bottom panels are wide. The bottom panels of a Chesapeake in the aft compartments is a good example. For four panel hulls it's probably less critical on the interior of the side panels but if you were going for the best of everything I'd put fouroz on the interior of the side panels with extra as needed in the bottom panels. There are places where a single layer of 4oz on the inside makes sense with doubled on the outside and vice versa.
