Ted,

Based on the test samples I've done with the 6 oz harness satin S glass, I agree that the ghosting is hard to notice. I attribute that to much smaller resin pockets in the harness satin. The ghosting we see is because there is a difference between the appearance of the wet-out yarns and the neat epoxy between the yarns. If there were a uniform layer of one or the other, we would see no ghosting. The satin weave better approximates a uniform layer of wet-out glass than does the open plain weave.

I also agree that the 6 oz hangs on to bubbles. Like you have pointed out, conditions need to be optimum, and one needs to be on their "A game" for it to come out nice.
