: Here's my question: Where should I store my strips until I'll be ready to
: start?
Like Mike, I keep my strips is some semblance of order by stacking them in the order they are ripped. After I hae al the strips ripped from one board, the stak of strips looks like an abridged version of the original board--similar to the original, but slimmer.
Unlike Mike, I don't use any tape to hold these in bundles. I use an inexpensive cotton or jute string, which I wrap two or three times around the bundle of strips and knot. I do this at least twice along the length of each bundle of short strips, and with bundles of long strips I may put on three or more bindings.
I keep the string fairly loose, pulling it just tight enough to keep the strips together, but not so tight that the string digs into the edges of the outside strips.
The big reason I avoid tape is that the sawdust in the shop tends to cling to the edges of the rolls. I don't want to mess with any tape residue on the strips, either. String is cheap and reusable.
