Damn, I blew it again! Jeeez, I'm so sorry. Here's the details on that part:

For 4 mm Okoume:
I use a 1-inch hole saw and drill the number of required cirles from 1/8 inch plywood. Next, I drill three holes into it, slap some epoxy on or if lazy some CA glue, and push the barrel though the hole in the center of the circle of ply. I made up a number of these for the Night Heron. When the time comes, I'll drill a hole through the deck, slpa some epoxy onto the underside of the surface, be it deck or whatever, a little into the hole, use a Q-tip to then clean the hole out, shove the barrel throughand use a "pul tool" of a 10/24 bolt and fender washer to seat the tips of the prongs into the okoume. I tried it and it works. A word of caution, make sure the threads are clean after seating the t-nut. All it takes is a quick twist with a q-tip with some silicone spray on the tip, or WD-40, or white (or salad) vinegar. Not so much that it drips, but just to moisten the swab. Generally, I use the vinegar.

If you later choose not to use a threaded hole it's easy to seal it with a plastic screw cut flush, or screw a short pan-head in. The plastic screw can be cahsed out with a tap and die. Of course, we're talking s/s fittings, too.. Also, I never use anything larger then 10/24.

man oh man, I'm so sorry for forgeting these important details.

: Hello Mike, these T-nuts look great.

: Do you flatten the prongs or leave them as is? It's hard to tell, but some of
: them look like they might be long enough to go right through my 4mm ply
: and poke out the top a bit.

: thanks

: Peter
