another layer of epoxy fill coat can add abrasion resistance, another layer of 2-4oz glass can add abrasion resistance, adding a coat of epxoy slightly thickened with cabosil can add abrasion resistance, putting slippery black carbon on the interior doesn't sound as useful as a half square foot of 6oz s-glass under the heels. I put down a bunch of layers of cloth AND a small patch of polyester cloth on the heel area after two layers of 4oz s-glass were worn through to the wood and half way into the first layer of Okoume.
