I did that on #2 paddle with center line lami and still killed a fine paddle in the waves, # 3 has a 3/8' core with two black stripes, if I can control my fear of Basalt when sitting on wood I think this one will be great. I also used up my stash of cypress on the football, sure wish I had more.
