: hello,
: I recently started my Merganser. I cut all the panels
: but didn't have my epoxy resin yet so I used some polyester
: resin I had in the shop for the but joints (where the front
: and rear panels are joined).
: Well I wish I had had the patience to wait for my epoxy.
: SO......what will happen if I epoxy over the polyester???
: Should I sand away as much as possible,
: or not worry about it????????
: The joints seem strong.
From what I've heard, epoxy will bond to cured polyester so you should be OK. I guess you should sand first to make sure you get a good mechanical bond, but don't do that again or we'll have to take your toys away from you until you learn a little patience!!
