Yeah, it's light wood alright. Light because it's crappy. We don't even burn it for firewood it's such junk. Ever wonder why you never hear about cottonwood furniture?

Maybe I'm being too harsh, and there are different kinds of cottonwoods and one kind might be suitable for building a boat. But the kind we have here are only good for shade (and birds).
