I like the thin border strips around the cockpit recess. I wish I'd known to do that. I didn't know at what angle to cut the opening in the deck. Plus, holding a sabersaw over the curving deck was difficult. I ended up with lot of variation in the edges when I started stripping the recess.

I didn't know what would be better - a cut 90 degrees to the tangent of the deck curve - straight up and down - ??? Looking back, I think it would have been best if I had angled the cut such that the end of each recess strip would have been at an angle, with the top surface longer than the bottom. That way I could have cut each strip a little long, then eased it down to fit using my bench belt sander.

I think if I'd used a thin border strip like you did, I could have controlled this angle much more easily, making the process of fitting the recess strips much easier.

Oh, the things I'll do better if I'm ever crazy enough to try another stripper.
