i was thinking i could premount the tnutin a 2 inch strip and glass the whole thing down.

the elevator bolts have 1.5 inch heads, but i was worried about spinning under the glass. i could drill a hole in the head.

i know the studs that are sold are expensive because of labour to assemble them, but i was more wondering why is the stud system so popular when there are other way less expensive options?
