In Response To: Strip: Wood glue or Epoxy (Gordon Niessen)

: In reading the book by Nick Schade on "The Strip-Built Sea Kayak" I
: see he uses wood glue to edge join the strips. Yet many builder pages are
: showing epoxy for this. Which is the best way?

: Wood glue seems easier to keep clean. But I would think it would leave a thin
: line between peices where the epoxy coating would not penetrate and be
: more visible.

We used wood glue and had a problem with one out of 4 dfferent brands, a little dark. Do a search and see, I belive Titebond is most used.
