: the fotpeg mounting studs people offer seem kind of expensive.

: has anyone used "ELEVATOR BOLTS" or T-NUTS with sucsess?

: i think a t-nut with a loctited stud, glassed in would be the same as the
: mounting studs offere by the dealers.

: chuck

I used a hole saw to make 2-inch diameter 1/8-inch thick plywood washers. I flattened the barbs on tee-nuts and epoxied them poking through the washers. The mounting holes in the Keepers were counterbored to accept the protruding portion of the tee-nuts and the mounting bolts were cut to length. I assembled the two complete assemblies and carefully with a toothpick applied bees wax in just the bottom of the bolt in the tee-nut hole to assure the bolt would not get glued in place. After careful measuring I buttered the bottoms of the plywood washers with thickened epoxy and taped the two assemblies in place on the hull. I also used the same method to attach Yakimas pictured here.
