I know I'm going to hurt Daves beer fund by doing this but seriously consider modifying the design before making it,,,or better yet get a Merganser 18 if you HAVE to have a big kayak,,the Merganser will be more efficient, better cockpit ergonomics, stiffer tracking but more importantly NORMAL turning response to a lean. The NBxl will be totally unmanagable in high winds without modification with a pivot point significantly forward of the center of mass. Sure you can put in a skeg but the nature of the rocker and high volume (but not at the bow/waterline) will work against you in waves AND wind. It's noticable in 5mph breeze and IMHO totally unacceptable in 15mph breeze. And if you're paddlng on flat water it's kind of like driving a two wheel drive SUV,,looks capable until it snows.
