Thanks for the info guys. I experimented and found that Saran wrap has an affinity to stick to dry Weldwood contact cement. The freezer wrap worked great. I think the dowels are OK for rigid objects but would not be so easy to use with squishy foam. The photo shows the first foam pieces glued into the Coho, and the completed wrap-around bulkhead. I'm going to start carving the seat now. I will post the progress.

PS: the holes in the foam are fang marks from the cat. Keep your cats away from the foam. They attack it.
