Still not much has been going on aside from some detail work:
The Hull
a second layer of CF in the cockpit area
three "ribs" of CF
scraped and sanded the chines
The Deck
assembled the deck and readying it for laying CF inside
designed the front hatch and ready to cut out the components
CF glassed the rear hatch components
matched grain from okoume for the new rear hatch lid (the original is where the big scarf joint ran)
drew out the bulkheads from a piece of 1/4 inch plywood and will lay CF on it
Plan
All in all, the yak is coming along well, though we both have things that cut into the work-day. The 10 days plan is dead and gone, but we're hoping to have deck and hull ready for joining by Sunday.
Glassing Schedule
Inside hull: 5.7 oz 2 by 2 weave CF, with second layer between the bulkheads
Inside deck: 5.7 oz CF
Outside hull: 1 layer 6 oz 6522 S-glass, a second 6 inch tape down the keel
Ouside deck: 3 oz satin that I haven't the details on aside from it be9ing a "triaxial" . In reality it's a 8 point harness weave, tight, with minimal intertitial space.
Weight:
It looks like we're on track for a 35 pound yak, the goal of this venture.
