If you decide to build the Shooting Star I can add my 2 cents to help you build it along with the others. I have fiberglassed the hull and am just about finished stripping the deck. The stern is probably the hardest part of building this yak but it can be taken in to the kitchen table and worked on like a little model as you see in the picture. But I tend to build and then read instructions and I built the stern wrong. The pine water line strips shouldn't have been put on untill I was stripping the whole water line on the boat so the strips could continue on to the other stations and add strength, so I had to take some strips off and rebuild. I bent the severe curved stips using a heat gun. Only I fastened the heat gun down and held the strips in my hands and shaped them. The bow piece is built with three 1/4" pieces of hardwood laminated together. I had access to a thickness planner to do this, making it easy. The SS is a beautiful boat and fun to work on for me.
