: Rob,

: Kerri is trying to book us in at the Ramada as I type this. I'm at work she
: is at home so I don't yet know if she has been successful.

: Looks like we will get into town Nov 17th or 18th and will be staying till
: Nov 21st. Keenan my 8 year old son and I will be taking in the Oilers vs
: Chicago game on Tue and the Oilers vs Toronto game on Thurs (WOW they sure
: don't give those tickets away do they? A hun and a half each!) Kerri and
: Kayla, my 10 year old daughter will be prowling the malls.
: With luck we will catch you on a few days off and we can get together for a
: paddle, a meal, and a few Guinness, while we are there. If it looks like
: we might get a paddle in I could bring my sprayskirt, it might fit one of
: your boats. I'll let you know when we are booked for sure. I've been
: assured that I have the hockey tickets(a benefit of growing up in a hockey
: family)but I don't have them in my hand yet. So, once I have definatly got
: the tickets and have confirmed the hotel room, I'll let you know and we'll
: make arrangements to get together and tell some lies.

: Ken

Sounds good, Ken

The river is off and on choked with ice or not. It will be cold without neo gloves and a dry top so bring those if you can. The rest of the safety items we will require we can find either at my place, Waters Dancing or Totem. We'll be able to get out there for at least an hour but not sure how much longer, that is completely weather dependant. No matter, it will be awesome to say we did it. I was out there for three hours on Thursday, mostly after dark. It was kinda cool (as in awesome) to be out on the river after dark. It isn't truely dark because of city lights but because I was the only one out there I did manage to present enough of a sight for people to take pics. One guy saw me just as I was coming around a massive ice jam. That must have been a sight to see me slowly passing the huge ice blocks, as if appearing out of nowheres. Winter paddling is always a sight to behold for those who think the river is inhospitable during the cold season. Truth be told, it is very unforgiving but still something to experience. Helps make the Guinness go down easier.

I'll see you when you get here.
