Over the past years there has been LOTS of discussion about seats. Seems to be a fair amount of agreement that the front edge needs to be higher than the back edge. I carve mine from foam in a manner similar to that used by Joe Greenley at Redfish Kayaks. I carve mine so they are about 2.5" high at the front edge, and about 3/8" thick under the "butt bones."
