I did not find the thermorest seat that Pygmy uses to be comfortable. My legs would go numb after a short period of time. I carved a seat out of minicell similar to yours and the problem went away. I also found that my lower back would start to bother me after about 45 minutes of paddling. I replaced the Pygmy backband with a standard backband that allows some flexability and I can sit in my boat for hours now. Doing some stretching helps me a lot also. Good luck. Keep trying different things, something will work.
